Tamil Actress Sneha is a leading actress in South Indian film industry and is of Telugu origin. Some of her major films include Autograph, King and Vasool Raja MBBS with Kamal Haasan. Sneha is the one of the few actresses in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies who refuses to take up glamorous roles, as she believes that her 'homely roles' are appreciated by all South Indian audience.
Sneha, began her film career in 2001 film Malayalam film as a supporting artiste, however her major breakthrough came later that year in a Tamil language film, Ennavale opposite Madhavan. Later that year, she starred in the successful venture,In 2002, Sneha broke into the "big league". Unlike many other top actresses of her time, her acting was praised, and was likened to a modern day Revathi Menon. A total of 8 films, were released including her first major hit in Telugu with Hanuman Junction as well as other hits in Unnai Ninaithu and April Madhathil.
Sneha has decided finally to revamp her homely image and go the glam way. Until now the audience have only been seeing Sneha in the homely roles. She has done some glamourous songs, but her current movie Pandi with Raghava Lawrence is way above any of those glamour that she has done before.
Sumalata began acting at age 15, after winning an Andhra Pradesh beauty contest in 1979. She appeared in many Tamil and Telugu films early in her career. She was Rajinikanth's second heroine besides Rati Agnihotri in films like Murattu Kaalai and Kazhugu. Most of her Telugu films are with Chiranjeevi. Her most memorable Malayalam films include Thazhvaram, Isabella, Nirakkoottu, Thoovanathumbikal, Parampara and New Delhi. She has acted in many Kannada movies like Aahuti, Avatara Purusha, Tayi Kanasu, Karna, Tayiya Hone, Kallarali Hoovagi, Ravichandra in which she acted with legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar. She has also acted in many Telugu films.
She received the best actress Nandi Award for her role in Shrutilayalu in 1987. She is a close friend of actress Suhasini Maniratnam, her co-star in a Telugu movie. The friendship between the two provided the material for a candid scene in the film, when director Kodandarami Reddy noticed Suhasini combing Sumalata's long hair on the train journey to the film set. Reddy asked his cameraman, Ashok Reddy, to film the two and added the scene to the movie's final cut.[1]
Sumalatha reportedly speaks six languages, and has acted in four.
Gautam was 20 when she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in movies.[4] She made her television debut with Chand Ke Paar Chalo, which was followed by Raajkumar Aaryyan. Following this, she played her most notable role in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam,[5] which aired on Colors.[6] Furthermore, she participated in the reality shows Meethi Choori No.1 and Kitchen Champion Season 1.
Gautam made her film debut in Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha. Whilst the film failed at the box office, Gautam received positive reviews for her performance.[7]
Gautam later made her Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, in which she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.[8] She played the role of Bengali girl Ashima Roy, a girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy with a past. Despite its small budget, the movie became a major commercial success and received critical appreciation.[2][3] Gautam received appreciation for her performance. Taran Adarsh writes "Yami Gautam makes an imposing debut. She adds enormous value to the movie by her act, screen presence and striking looks. She's truly admirable towards the latter part of the film."[9] Madhureeta Mukherjee adds that Gautam "is a sheer delight to watch, emoting effortlessly."[10]
In 2012, she featured on the cover page of Prevention (magazine)[11] and Wedding Affair[12] which discussed her life, personality and interest in Hot yoga.[13] Furthermore, she featured on the cover of Femina (magazine) November 2012 issue.
Gautam is currently filming for Hamara Bajaj, Gouravam, Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, Courier Boy Kalyan and Aman Ki Aasha.
